Does the Bible say that God wants us to be arrested ?
2 | Does God cause people to get arrested ? | Matt 24:9 | EdB | 241694
Arrest is a consequence of our sinful actions. All sin carries consequences. When you sin and break a law the consequence is possibly jail. It is not a matter of God wanting you arrested it is matter of the consequence of our actions when we yield to sin. |

3 | Does God cause people to get arrested ? | Matt 24:9 | jeremiah1five | 241703
Are there no innocent people in jail or prison? Are you of the "heart" that believes anyone arrested and accused of a crime, even if convicted of a crime and in prison, that if they are in prison they must be guilty?
4 | Does God cause people to get arrested ? | Matt 24:9 | EdB | 241710
I think the question was does God cause people to get arrested. My answer was arrest is the consequence of sin. That does not mean that there aren't miscarriages of justice and that there may be people in jail are serving time for a crime they did not commit. If we lived in a perfect world only those that committed the crime would be jailed. However this world has been tainted with sin. However I don't think it was God's will for innocent people to be placed in jail. |

5 | Does God cause people to get arrested ? | Matt 24:9 | jeremiah1five | 241713
No, it does mean including miscarriages of justice. Jesus is a perfect example. If God created the world and the people in it and it is "tainted" (actually, immersed is a better word) in sin, then God willed all that proceeds from that act, miscarriages and all. You cannot believe in a Sovereign God and the make excuses for things that occur that do not fit your understanding of God's righteousness and will. God is not looking the other way when one is falsely accused, arrested, prosecuted and convicted, especially if it is one of His own kids. He is directly and intimately involved. He even willed and orchestrated a thief receiving capital punishment on a cross. When is the last time that in the United States we execute a thief? But if God had not orchestrated these lives according to His will the thief on the cross would not hand with Jesus and not been promised paradise. |

6 | Does God cause people to get arrested ? | Matt 24:9 | EdB | 241715
I think the question is did God will it or did God allow it? You and I see the sovereignty of God differently. I see a God that allows sin to run it's course. If someone sins and falsely accuses some one then it was consequence of sin that put the person in jail. The thief on the cross as there by the consequence of sin. Yes God used him to testify of Jesus but the thief committed a sin and that was why he was on the cross.

I see God as ordaining everything that comes to pass. He knows the end from the beginning because He ordained the end.
