Dear justme, As to how what we are seeing today is associated with Matthew 24:24, I cannot assert in a definitive way. It would be safe to say that we see the idea of the passage expressed in various ways around us. Given the need of many believers for a contemporary validation of the gospel in signs and wonders, I can see their deception as very possible. Remember, the tares do not know they are tares (Matthew 13:30; cf Matthew 7:15-16). You asked, "I have not heard of any who say they are Christ, have you?" I saw a television program a few months ago that cited a number of people, in various parts of the world, who currently claim to be Christ. As I recall, some of them had many followers and others had none. None of them were doing too good of a job in their imitation of Christ. However, in concept, I don't see that the dispensationalist view of someone who did a better job of it would be impossible. In Him, Doc PS Just a thought: Note that Matthew uses the word pseudochristos and John uses the word antichristos. Even in modern parlance pseudo and anti mean quite different things. |

Doc: Thanks. I felt the need to reply because often I wonder after making a note or answer what the person thought. So again, THANKS. justme |
