1 | Pre Tribulation rapture? | Matt 24:30 | justme | 75165
In Matthew 24:29-31 the NASB updated. Says "But immediately after the tribulation............ verse 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear...... After studing this chapter and I am reminded this is what Jesus said would happen, how does anyone come up witha pretrib, rapture theory? Was not Darby who in the early 1800's who first come up with this theory? From what I have read the early church Fathers believed Christ would come as Matthew 24:29-31 states. Any coments?
2 | Pre Tribulation rapture? | Matt 24:30 | Aixen7z4 | 75166
Perhaps we are confusing the rapture with the second coming of Christ to earth again. Before the tribulation, Christ comes in the clouds and catches the church away. See 1 Cor 15. See Rev 4. After the tribulation, he returns to the earth to put an end to evil and to reign. See Rev 20. Jesus comes to the air to take away those who are saved and not appointed to wrath. This taking away is the rapture, and it is pretrib. The second coming, to the earth, his feet standing on the mount of Olives and all, (Zech 14) is posttrib. It is difficult to get the complete picture from reading one passage. Make use of the other Scriptures describing the end times and try to develop a chronology of events. |

3 | Does 1 Cor 15:51-53 show the rapture? | Matt 24:30 | Searcher56 | 75233
Scripture ... 1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. Aixen7z4, where is the rapture in this passage? All it says is the dead will be raised and we will be changed? Searcher |

4 | Does 1 Cor 15:51-53 show the rapture? | Matt 24:30 | Fellow Heir | 75245
When Paul says "we will not all sleep" he is referring to ones not dead. Even Christ used sleep to indicate Lazarus was dead. Then he says "the dead will be raised imperishable" and "WE" shall al be changed. Even talks about the Trumpet Sound. Sounds to me like a parallel passage to 1 Thes 4:13-18. Fellow Heir |

5 | Fellow Heir, Can we include Mat 24:27-31 | Matt 24:30 | Searcher56 | 75251
Scripture ... Matt 24:27-31, 1 The 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51-53 ... Fellow Heir, do you believe all three of these passages are descrbing the same event? If so, do you see this happening after the tribulation (Mat 24:29)? |

6 | Fellow Heir, Can we include Mat 24:27-31 | Matt 24:30 | Fellow Heir | 75260
The way I see it is the Rapture Paul talks about is the departure of the Church Which is HIS Body before the Tribulation period. See 1 Thes 5:1-11 I believe Matthew is talking about Christ's return to save the nation Israel as prophesied in Zechariah 14. This will definitely be after the Great Tribulation. Fellow Heir |

7 | Do you pick/choose what is for you? | Matt 24:30 | Searcher56 | 75269
Fellow Heir, so if He is talking about coming for Israel in Matthew 24, is it because He is talking to the Jews at the time? That is what I have heard others say. He spent most of His time talking to Jews ... so is the rest of His messages in the Gospels only for them? Or do you (and others) pick and choose what is for you, too? Is the Sermon on the Mount for you? What about the Holy Spirit ... the Last Supper? Do you not see how closely related the three passages are (Matt 24:27-31, 1 The 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51-53)? Will you accept what Paul wrote ... 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 Paul says that God will give the believers rest when Jesus comes (1 The 5:7-8) and at the same time the unbelievers will pay the penalty, "when he comes to be glorified in his saints on that day" (vv 9-10). 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 The apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction (2 The 2.3) ... before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him (vs. 1). It all fits that we Gentile Christians will go through the Tribulation. |

8 | Do you pick/choose what is for you? | Matt 24:30 | Fellow Heir | 75274
Searcher wrote; Do you pick/choose what is for you? I definitely do. I believe I am under Grace not Law and the Gospels may be in what is called the New Testament but if you look at them they are all under Israels law. Even when Christ sent the Diciples out to preach the "Kingdom of Heaven is near" He said "DO NOT GO INTO THE WAY OF THE GENTILES--ONLY GO TO THE LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL" I think that excluded me if I had been living at the time. As for a lot of the Gospels as well as the Old Testament there is truth that is universal and is not for Jew or Gentile only but for all mankind. I also believe "All scripture is given by inspiration and is profitable...but I don't believe it is all written for this present time in Church history. God had different programs throughout His Story starting with Adam and Eve in a perfect setting with only one prohibitiion on through Ten Commandments and some 400 plus laws for Israel to what Paul calls the "Administration of Grace" in Ephesians 3:1-12. I do differ with some on when the Rapture will take place. I believe it will be at the middle of the Great Tribulation (Rev 12:7-12) and I also believe there will not be enough live believers taken up that there will be even a short blurb on CNN. How many were in the Ark when the Deluge came? As for the Dead in Christ" I don't even see that graves or mausoleums have to burst open as some say. I believe God has the power to make the whole event so unnoticed that no one will know it happened. I accept everything Paul says since he called himself "The Apostle of the Gentiles" in Rommans 11:13 and I am certainly one of that breed. I would like to say I understand all he says but at 70 I still have a lot of unanswered questions though I have not given up yet that the answers will come. Fellow Heir |
