1 | What's the sign? | Matt 24:30 | prayon | 3279
While talking to His disiples about His return he states that the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. He then says that the SIGN of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. I have heard tell that this sign is His shakina (sp?) glory. Is this the general concensus? Can anyone elaborate more on this?
2 | What's the sign? | Matt 24:30 | kalos | 3280
"...the sign of the Son of Man" Matt 24:30. Here the Son of Man Himself is the sign. . . . "the sign." Some think this is the lightning of v. 27; others, the Shekinah, or glory, of Christ; still others leave it unspecified. At any rate, *the Son of Man* Himself will come visibly (Rev 1:7). There seems to be no reason for not taking this part of Jesus' teaching as plainly as other parts" (p. 1490, Ryrie Study Bible, Moody, 1976, 1978). |
