1 | End times/birth pains scripture? | Matt 24:1 | KathyInKY | 141916 | ||
It seems to me that there is scripture that mentions that the end times will be like birth pains. (I always assumed that to mean that things such as natural disasters would increase in intensity like labor pains increase in intensity). The only scripture that I've been able to find is: “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:22-25 NIV Is this the scripture I was thinking of or is there another (or none) that I am trying to recall? Thanks! |

Hi KathyInKY, Matthew 24:3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. 6 "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs." Jesus is saying these specific events will happen in the last days more frequently, and more intense, the closer we get. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
