2 | Love grow cold? | Matt 24:12 | Ms. Trish | 47477
When I read this entire scripture, Math 24, I see that this group of people whose "love grows cold" could be people operating in a religious spirit rather than having a relationship with God and actually being saved. Just like in the days that Jesus walked the earth.. The religiosness of the people crucified Him. In that same way, we can ask, will that same spirit keep people today from following in Godly love and receiving the truth of Jesus Christ, and following into that coldness and parrishing.. "For My people parrish because of lack of knowledge".

Greetings Ms Trish! Thanks for your reply. Good observations. Also, in reference to "lack of knowledge" check out these verses: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Pr 9:10 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge," Hosea 4:6 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase." Dan 12:14 From thse Scriptures we might conclude that is knowledge of the Holy One that will increase during the last days. (Hasn't this already happened?) However, as far as my question about "love growing cold" I am reminded about Jesus' description of the Laodicean church: "you are lukewarm" Rev 3:16. Isn't something that is "growing cold" lukewarm? I am presuming that the "love" referenced here (Mt 24:12) is LOVE FOR GOD. Therefore . . . IF the way we express our love for God is to obey His commands (For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; 1 John 5:3)and Jesus says that "love will grow cold" (lukewarm). . . THEN can we measure the temperature of our love for God as it is reflected in our obedience to His Word? Assessing the conditions of the world in which we live, it doesn't take an advanced degree to determine how far we have strayed from the directions God's Word gives for us to live a life that is pleasing to Him! We have seen great revival, an explosion of spiritual knowledge and yet now, might we also recognize the presence of a "love growing cold?" 9/11 produced a spark - but did it reach the tinder? Shouldn't obedient followers of Jesus at least make an effort to fan the flames? Discern the times! Blessings as you continue to trust and obey! Mommapbs |
