1 | Is the UPC a Christian Church? | Matt 24:11 | Makarios | 142462
Amen! Excellent post by Kalos.. The "Jesus Only" UPC Church is definitely based on a heretical belief system, completely denying the Biblical doctrine of the one and only "Triune" God. Makarios |

I believe they just understand that The name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost is Jesus Christ. The same thing the Apostles understood.

jcsav, I have 2 questions for you: 1. How is it SPECIFICALLY that this is "the same thing the Apostles understood"? Can you provide scripture? 2.The writers of the Athanasian Creed certainly had a different understanding in writing (in part),"Thus the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. However, there are not three gods, but one God. The Father is Lord, the Son is Lord, and the Holy Spirit is Lord. However, there as not three lords, but one Lord. For as we are obliged by Christian truth to acknowledge every Person singly to be God and Lord, so too are we forbidden by the Catholic religion to say that there are three Gods or Lords. The Father was not made, nor created, nor generated by anyone. The Son is not made, nor created, but begotten by the Father alone. The Holy Spirit is not made, nor created, nor generated, but proceeds from the Father and the Son. There is, then, one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three sons; one Holy Spirit, not three holy spirits. In this Trinity, there is nothing before or after, nothing greater or less. The entire three Persons are coeternal and coequal with one another. So that in all things, as is has been said above, the Unity is to be worshipped in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity." Where we differ is when you say there are three persons in the Godhead. I understand that the word "Person" referring to God to you differ from humans. But, I must know what you mean when you say "Person" Is there a better word to be used? And why do you think that the Apostles teaching Jews did not bring this up in their council? They brought up the Law, why not this. Can you amagine the uproar telling the Jews like you are trying to tell me, that that there are three persons in the Godhead and each of them is called God? And together they are God.
