1 | Is the UPC a Christian Church? | Matt 24:11 | DarcyA | 97531 | ||
...Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the catholic faith; ...This is the catholic faith, which except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be saved. That statement there is the only part I have read. That statement there is an one word an lie. That is hersey. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 Cor. 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Either the Cathlolic statement of faith is correct or the Bible is correct. I will go with the Word of God. I pray that God's takes me before I even think of bowing down to John Paul 2 and kissing his ring or calling him Holy Father or his word equal to Gods Word. I will belive in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and who is God. Born of a virgin mother, lived a sinless life and died upon a cross for my sins and destroyed the works of satan, so I may have eternal life in Him. And I am saved by Grace through Faith in Him. That is how I am saved. I do not have to believe in a thing that the Cathlics, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, or any other denomination, writes. My faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ and none other. |

The word used in the quote was not Catholic (capital C); it was catholic (lower case c). Used in the quote it does NOT mean the Roman Catholic Church. It merely carries the original meaning of the word catholic. In the quote 'catholic' means 'universal.' As I said earlier, as long as you are defining the key words, it is impossible for you to be wrong or mistaken. |
