1 | Is the UPC a Christian Church? | Matt 24:11 | John Reformed | 97533 | ||
Lower case c "catholic" means universal. Because of the proliferation of false christs espoused by false teachers, the true church found it necessary to put forth an explanation of the Trinity that is as faithfull to Scripture as man can possibly be. Thus...The Athanasian Creed. You already said you did'nt understand this doctrine. Are you now determined not to learn from others? Frankly, what you did write had some serious errors. Take a deep breath and learn from one of the great saints; Athanasius John |

The trinity doctrine no one completely understands uncluding that creed that you showed me. For example Jesus worships the father, but yet they are completely equal to one another, The Holy Sppirt is equal to the Father and the Son. but yet you will not be forgiven if you blasmany Him but you will be forgiven if you blasemy the Father or Son. Also all power was given to Jesus from the Father, But yet Jesus is God. Also can't remember where it is found in Scripture exactly. Jesus will give all power back to the Father. These are not explainable I am convinced in Human understanding. Just like the Godhead is eterna, never being created always existed. That is a very hard thing to grasp the concept of that. Although I know it to be true. Just trying to grasp the thought of eternal gives me a headache. The Trinity Doctrine. Is very hard to explain. Yes there are people who try and put it into words the best they know how. And probably what they have put into words is correct. But I believe there is more to it than that about the trinity doctrine. I believe there is more to other doctrines than are written in Doctrines. Things that our Human minds can't get a hold of. We just can't grasp it. Not to say I have any answers to it, because I don't. This is what makes me teachable. Take Doctrines away as the basis for a study. Don't prove the Bible is correct by a doctrine. If we base our beliefs on doctrines then we are lost. For a number of reasons first is fallibility of the doctrine. Then you have church fathers whom not everything was opened up them. For example Daniel and Revelation. Sir Issac Newton once said there will be a day when the book of Revelation will be revealed and taken literally. Now for the first time in History that book is being revealed. As well as Daniel. Daniel didn't even know what it was all about when he wrote it. Some things are being revealed for the first time. |

We are not expected to understand the mystery of the Trinity but we are to know what it is and how we are to worship our triune God. John |
