1 | Heresy Hunting or Biblical Mandate? | Matt 24:11 | Asis | 87024 | ||
I am not saying that we are not to teach the truth or to allow error to go unchallenged. Paul used the truth to diswade the lies. I cannot recall where He names names. "Judeizer Shlomo is spreading a false gospel." He encouraged the believers to rely on the teaching they had received and the Holy Spirit would guide them. Instruct them in all truth, is what Jesus said. The context of some of the scriptures used in the last paragraph of the web site are about the qualifications of a bishop. I guess I'm just getting tired of all this word of faith bashing. Jesus said there would be wolves in sheeps clothing among us. That by their fruit we will be able to tell who is a wolf and who is a sheep. Look at the fruit. The article says "However, we are committed to exposing those who would compromise the essential doctrines of the historic Christian faith." If we followed that would we all be catholic? Don't you think that Luther put up with the same attacks. Called a Heretic. We get so entenched in religion that when we are presented with the truth we call it Heresy. Don't get me wrong. There is no one who has it all down pat. Even I have said some things about the meaning of scripture that I repented and corrected. We must be like the Bereans. They didn't believe Paul but when the word was there they believed. They didn't act like the Pharasees and ther Jews who didn't believe and run around the town stirring up everyone to kick Paul out of town. If we are to have a study on doctrine then let's study it. Word of Faith believes this A, B, C,. . . One person I know said they only know about Word of Faith by what they have read on the forum. That means they know nothing about the doctrines of someone who subscribes to Word of Faith. What does Word of Faith mean to you. What is the Word of Faith doctrine. In your service ASIS |

Now these [Jews] were better disposed and more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message [concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] with inclination of mind and eagerness, searching and examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. (AMPLIFIED Acts 17:11 ) Asis writes: "We must be like the Bereans. They didn't believe Paul." Asis, are you serious? Nowhere in the Bible does it say or imply the Bereans didn't believe Paul. This idea is total nonsense. It's absurd and unscriptural. The text in Acts 17:11 plainly says: "they were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message [of Paul and Silas] ...with inclination of mind and eagerness," I say again: They were entirely ready and accepted and welcomed the message. WITH INCLINATION OF MIND AND EAGERNESS. This is a far cry from "They didn't believe Paul." |

I will not engage in your games. Use all of a scripture when you quote it. with inclination of mind and eagerness, SEARCHING AND EXAMINING THE SCRIPTURES DAILY TO SEE IF THESE THINGS WERE SO. (Emphasis mine AMPLIFIED Acts 17:11 ) Use a whole sentence when you quote me. "They didn't believe Paul but when the word was there they believed" versus "Asis writes: "We must be like the Bereans. They didn't believe Paul." |
