Hi, sgribble... Welcome to the forum! I believe you must be talking about Matthew 21 rather than 28 -- specifically the parable of Jesus to the elders in Matthew 21:28-31. Note that neither Jesus or the elders say that both sons were "right." One of the two sons did the "will of the father" and the other did not. The one who actually went into the vineyard to work (v29) as the man had directed did what the man wanted, despite initially refusing. The other son gave verbal assurances to the man, nevertheless, he did not go work in the vineyard (v30). Compare with Isaiah 29:13 and Ezekiel 33:31. In Him, Doc |
