Dear Dr. Hawk, Rather than simply serving up the answer to your question, let me encourage you to do some digging for yourself. Please read post #157835. Then, with those things in mind, and with prayer, study the parable. Then come back to us and provide us with your own answer. We will work on it from there. I think that this approach will yield greater value than any other. In Him, Doc |

3 | What do Matthew 20:1-16 mean? | Matt 20:16 | John Ryals | 228163 | ||
Hello Dr. Hawk, The Lord is teaching Grace here, which means that we do not obtain Salvation from Him by merit, but as well, it speaks of Israel and the Church; the Church although last, will receive just as much as Israel, who was first. No man has the right to make a claim on God because of merit. It must all be by Faith in Christ and the Cross, [Rom. 3:20-31]. The Church was chosen last, but will be first, because Israel which was chosen first, rejected the Lord. May God Bless You, John Ryals |
