1 | Why do they both include Shealtiel? | Matt 1:12 | amt_bible | 167479 | ||
It is possible it is simply two separate people with the same or at least a similar name. This has happened many times before and it happens all the time today. One example of two people with the same name that might make you think are in Acts 12:2,17. v.2 And he had James the brother of John put to death with a sword. (NASB) v.17 But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison And he said, "Report these things to James and the brethren." Then he left and went to another place. (NASB) The name James is talked about in both verses. In the first verse it is talking about the death of James, but the second verse clearly is talking about James still being alive. The first James is James who was an apostle, while the other James is Jesus' half brother. |
