Lionheart: I have a very strong position against sin, and divorce is sin. I also have a Biblical stand on what marriage is, When someone traps, tricks, or uses lies, to fraudlently bring someone into bondage that is not marriage. That is slavery. I say this because this is still practiced by Mormans, and other cults. Is this situation a Biblical marriage? If just saying some words that you know you will not keep from the time of uttering them is a marriage then we have a huge difference in understanding what Jesus said marriage is. I am not attacking you as I have great admoration for you, and respect you with genuine brotherly Love. Justme |

Justme, No offence taken brother. I will agree fraud, deciet and lies a marriage do not make. As a very young man I was in a marriage that should have never been and I knew it the the moment we went to the alter. The world will never understand this. People are getting married with little or no thought to what they are entering into. They approach it like they do cloths, when they get tired of em they get rid of them and move on to something else. Sadly we face much of the same problems within the church. We dont seek the advice and counciling we should before entering into such a commitment. I think back to when I was saved. The time, considerations, the weeks and hours of biblestudy and prayer along with those who lead me to the Lord. My wife and I may no longer be married. But we both today can say with a certainty that we are this day disciples of Jesus Christ. We are both still married to God. It's a shame that we as christians dont approach marriage with the same care, thought and consideration we did when were saved. In Christ, lionheart |
