1 | why some versions don't have matt 18:11? | Matt 18:11 | Ray | 41515
Hi Samskeed, The KJ, NKJ, and NASB include them and those are the versions that I use. For my personal study the differences in number of pronouns is important and I would include these. But basically the warning of Revelation 22:19 should make us all aware of whether it should be included or not. The general wording of Scripture is not important in my mind but I think that all of the words of God, i.e. pronouns of Deity need to be included. Revelation 22:19, "...and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book." Welcom to the forum. From the heart, Ray |

2 | Omission of Matthew 18:11 | Matt 18:11 | deacon art | 131294
It appears that this question on the omission of Matthew 18:11 has come up before. However, it doesn't seem that a favorable answer was given. Does anyone have a reason other than "translation" or "version?" Could it be intentional? If so, why?
3 | Omission of Matthew 18:11 | Matt 18:11 | Emmaus | 131300
Deacon Art, "Some manuscripts add, "For the Son of Man has come to save what was lost"; cf Matthew 9:13. This is practically identical with Luke 19:10 and is probably a copyist's addition from that source." NAB footnote for Matt 18:11 http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/matthew/matthew18.htm Emmaus |
