Hi, View... The "kingdom of heaven" or "kingdom of God" means the Gospel. Parables almost always teach a single point. There are something over 30 "Kingdom Parables." In this parable, Christ is talking about how a new believer approaches the Gospel. Once he "discovers" it, he hides it away in his heart. Knowing the worth of what he has found -- the immense and value of eternal life -- the believer devotes all that he has and is to the attaining of it. Note that he is goes about this with joy, for there is nothing else that can compare to the value of attaining eternal life. Look to all the other statements about the kingdom in order to obtain a correct interpretation of this important concept as taught by our Lord. In Him, Doc |

Hi, view... The Scripture frequently speaks of "thinking with the heart." You'll see this in passages like Proverbs 23:7, Isaiah 10:7, Matthew 9:4, etc. The Bible recognizes a difference between those thoughts that flit and flitter through the mind all day, and those thoughts that become planted deep within the heart. Only "heart thoughts," if you will, are the kind that reflect true conviction. Does that help? In Him, Doc |
