Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; I understand your question. It is true that God uses us to sow seed, as Paul stated one sows another waters. However the truth remains that dynamic of a seed being planted and bringing forth fruit, or taking root in good soil is entirely outside of our control. Mark 4:27-28 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. It is the Father in heaven that is able to reveal to a man the Christ and to make him to have understanding. It is the Father in Heaven that allows the judgement of a lack of understanding to come upon a man that he cannot hear. And what part do we have in all this? As much as lies within us we should endeavor to preach to those that recieve us and shake the dust off of those that reject us, letting our peace return to us and not entering into strife. There are those who are "in the way of life" and those that are "in the way of death" we do not judge these things but we know that they are and that we should not extend too much spiritual energy on the one that is "in the way of death" Consider Christ and how he ministered to some that "were not far from the kingdom of heaven" and you will see in that prospective convert an honest approach to spiritual questions. So it should be in these forums and christian chat rooms on the internet. It is a snare to waste time and spiritual energy striving about words with someone who does not have this hones heart. How do we know who does and who doesn't. The Holy Spirit will guide you if you will have faith for it and as He does you will find you are not judging anyone one way or the other, but leaving the judgement up to God and simply following the peace that God gives. So you "inquire within if anyone is worthy.. and if so there abide until the Spirit moves you on.. and if not.. then let your peace return unto you and move on." May God bless you in your Study of His Word. One last thought. The only good soil that had understanding of the kind that bore fruit was a tilled ground. The tilled ground according to the OT prophets when applying it to the heart was always speaking about a repentant heart. Repentant of past sins and an eager willingness to follow God. |
