1 | Is church growth a gauge for the church? | Matt 13:23 | pocketzz | 189510 | ||
I cannot remember if this was something somone once told me, and I believed it to be biblical, or if I read it int he bible, and just can't find it. The question? I "remember" hearing that Churches can gauge their preformance based upon their growth / increase in size. That a growing church is a sign of a healthy and spirit led church. Can anyone point me to biblical references to this subject? Or tell me that I am remembering incorrectly? Thanks, Dan |

God's day to you, pocketzz and welcome to the SBF, I agree with my brother Doc. I think there are many megachurches that have mostly shallow members/ attenders due to attractions. Yes, there are some megachurches that the members/ attenders grow in the Lord. Growing in Christ is not easy - it requires a lot, as we work out our salvation. There are smaller churches that have mature members. When the church doubles in size they start another church. ... Or that is my ideal ... don't build on the current building or move to a place and build bigger ... just find a new place and start a new church. Searcher |
