Is God's love really unconditional? Jesus says in Matthew 10:33, "whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Sounds like His acceptance of us is based on our acknowledgment of Him before others. |

Remember that there is a difference between God's love being unconditional, and His acceptance being unconditional. God's love is unconditional; His acceptance is conditional. Jesus will deny someone who denies Him--it doesn't mean He doesn't love the denier. He is doing the just and right thing by denying His deniers. A judge who condemns a guilty man--does not mean that he has no compassion for the guilty man, but he still must do the right thing if he is to be a fair and honest judge. |
