1 | Difference between apostle and disciple? | Matt 10:2 | jbouw | 134802 | ||
Thank for your reply. I had heard that the apostles were named because they were the only ones that saw Jesus and this of course makes sense since Jesus appointed them himself. This question was brought up on our bible study group and I shall pass it on. Thanks again. |

"he was seen of above five hundred" After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 1 Cor. 15:6 (KJV) You write: "I had heard that the apostles were named because they were the only ones that saw Jesus." The Bible says: 1 Cor. 15:3-6 (ESV) For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, [4] that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, [5] and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. [6] Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. |
