1 | What is this "valuation of persons" abou | Lev 27:2 | Just Read Mark | 137785
What is this "valuation of persons" about? This chapter mentions "redeeming", "vowing", "dedicating", and "holiness" ... but I don't understand it. The different "values" placed on men and women, young and old, seem troubling.

Greetings Just Read Mark - I believe the answer is found in verse 8. I appears that the "valuing" is the amount to be paid for the making of the vow before the Lord - remember what David said: "But King David said to Ornan, 'No, but I will surely buy it for the full price; for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, or offer a burnt offering which costs me nothing.'" 1 Chron 21:24 IMO, although Grace is free, we as believers should remember to "count the cost" of following Christ! To whom much is given, much is required comes to mind.(Lk 12:48) Blessings, mommapbs PS - I'm off for a few days so if you reply I won't be able to respond right away . . . |
