1 | Homosexuality, sin or not? | Lev 18:22 | LibertyBelle | 132723
Recently the discussion of homosexuality and Sodom and Gomorrah was brought up. Someone said, "The sin that God destroyed those cities was the lack of hospitality and gave a scripture to back it (sorry, I don't have the scripture) and that there is not anything in the Bible that says God is against homosexuality. Anyway, to make a long story short, I was not able to prove or explain that this was the reason of the destruction. Now he has me wondering, "IS homosexuality alright?" He also said that because Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, it is okay with Him. What say you? (anyone!)

LibertyBelle: Make no mistake about it, and be not deceived by the lies of homosexuals or other promoters of the "alternate life-style" propaganda. Scripture clearly and vigorously condemns homosexual practices. See Leviticus 18:22. Also see Leviticus 20:13 where the Old Testament penalty was death. In Deut. 23:17,18 the word translated "dog" is a Hebrew epithet for a male prostitute or sodomite. The New Testament condemns homosexuality also. See Romans 1:26,27 and 1 Timothy 1:10. Moreover, Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, in many, many portions, absolutely and unequivocally condemns immorality. And to argue that Jesus approved of homosexuality is a vacuous and ridiculous argument from silence. Anyone who knows much at all about Jesus and His teachings would know that Jesus never, never sanctions immorality. And as for Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed for their "lack of hospitality" this is simply too blatantly absurd and laughable to deserve a serious response. ..... Please don't fall for these lies and deceptions. Take God at His word. On the authority of Scripture, condemn immorality, which clearly includes homosexuality; and don't compromise with the world or play ball with the homosexual agenda. But don't hesitate to minister to them, to tell them the truth about what the Bible teaches about their so-called lifestyle, and to pray for their deliverance from the bondage and ugliness of sin. --Hank

Thanks, Hank! I think I'm about done with these guys. If it's not calling me "homophobe", it's calling me a "bigot" and accusing me of being intolerant of other's lifestyles. I'm not even sure I should be discussing this with them. The scripture in Deuteronomy was interesting and informative. I've never seen that. I looked it up in my Strong's and sure enough, you were right! I couldn't persuade you to join the forum where I've been posting and about to leave, could I? If you care to look at it, it's called "First Coast News forum." I'd post the link in here but I don't think this thing will accept it. I tried it once and it sent me back to take it out. It shouldn't be too hard to put the name of the forum in a search bar, though. It'll take you right to it, I'm sure. Sorry this is so late in responding. I've had a busy week last week. You can even register with your name "Hank", as there is no one using that name on the forum. Again, thanks for your information. LB |
