2 | Who is "she who is in labor?" | Mic 5:3 | Searcher56 | 98498
I beleieve this is about the Babylonian captivity since I read "Then the remainder of His brethren will return to the sons of Israel." ... The woman is an illustration ... labor and captivity are hard times. If this was about Christ's birth, then "the remainder of His brethren" would have returned. |

3 | Who is "she who is in labor?" | Mic 5:3 | Ray | 98504
Hi Searcher56, I believe that this is speaking of Christ's birth, and I have penciled in "Child" for Micah 5:3. Micah 5:5, "Because at that time [Lit., now] He will be great to the ends of the earth. And this One will be our peace." This Child, this One will be our peace, even the Prince of Peace, our Ruler. Isaiah 9:6, NKJ, "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;..." 4 | Who is "she who is in labor?" | Mic 5:3 | Searcher56 | 98610
Then what does "Then the remainder of His brethren will return to the sons of Israel" mean ... did it happen at His birth, or even during His life?
5 | Who is "she who is in labor?" | Mic 5:3 | Ray | 98636
Hi Searcher56, I believe the answer is "at His birth". I say that because I noticed tonight that Micah 5:3 has a word, (up) in italics in the NASB which denotes that it is not in the literal Hebrew. Micah 5:3, "Therefore, He will give them [up] until the time when she who is in labor has borne a *Child." The capitalized Child is only my interpretation for what it is worth. But it answers your question; He will give them until He comes to earth, born in Bethlehem Ephrathah. Born to be *Ruler in Israel. (see NKJ). From the heart, Ray |

So Ray are you saying that God will give Israel up? Yes, He was born to be "Ruler" but this has not come to pass . . . could this reference be the 400 years of silence before Christ's birth? How does the last part of the verse (then what is left of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel) figure in? What would happen if child was NOT capitalized? Blessings to you Ray! mommapbs |

7 | Who is "she who is in labor?" | Mic 5:3 | Ray | 98652
Hi mommapbs, If this Child were not capitalized then He would not be the Ruler. I think of John 18:37. "Pilate therefore said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say [correctly] that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the *Truth. Everyone who is of the *Truth hears My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is *Truth?"" The interpretation of the *Truth is my interpretation for what it is worth. But I would say that whether Christ is seen by the world as a man or a Man, as one who told the truth or is the Truth, born as a king or is a King; the truth remains that the Jews crucified their "King" on the cross.
