This prophecy could have double meaning. By that I mean it applied to the future event in Amos' time frame. And also could apply today. Many cite this passage as being fulfilled today as many pulpits are preaching warm fuzzy, feel good, think better of yourself messages and forsaking the true exposition of the Word. |

thank you for your answer. Since posting it I posed the question to my pastor, he said it referred to the 400 year span before Christ's birth when there was no prophesy. I believe , today though, we have no need for prophesy as everything we need to know is all contained in God's word, besides, if I truly trust in the lord then I have no need for prophesy, and if we suffer from a famine of the word then it is of our own doing, God's word and all we need to know is in the bible, read, read, read and pray for wisdom to understand | ||||||
