2 | Plague of frogs upon Israel? | Ex 8:8 | prayon | 55283
Greetings angelface, There were about 80 major gods and godesses in Egypt, and these were clustered about the three natural forces of the Egyptian life, the Nile river, the land and the cloudless sky with its ceaseless sun. Each plague that God sent were sent against a god or goddess in this pattern. The plague of frogs was the second plague to hit the Egyptians and went against the gods of the Nile. One of the godesses of the Nile was Hekt and was always pictured with the head and often the body of a frog. Frogs, therefore, were sacred and could not be killed. The Egyptians were forced to loathe this slimy symbol of their depraved worship. prayon
