1 | Exodus 3:14 connected to John 8:58? | Ex 3:14 | Morant61 | 76107
Greetings Truthfinder! Again, my friend, this is a lot of explaining away of a very clear statement. One simple little verse proves that Jesus, in John 8, is using 'ego eimi' as a claim to being God - that verse is John 8:24: "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.?" The Greek of the verse literally says, "... unless you believe that I AM..." Was Jesus saying that unless they believed that He was alive that they would die in their sins? Was Jesus saying that unless they believed that He existed that they would did in their sins? No! What was it that they HAD to believe? Simply this: That Jesus was the "I AM" - Jehovah God. John 8:24 makes it perfectly clear that Jesus is using 'I AM' as a title, drawn from Ex. 3:14. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Exodus 3:14 connected to John 8:58? | Ex 3:14 | Hank | 76128
Hi, Tim...I note that your correspondent, Truthfinder, says in his user profile that he enjoys translating New Testament Hebrew in his spare time. Therein may lie the problem. You have been using your New Testament GREEK manuscript and he his New Testament HEBREW manuscript. :-) Since it is a clear historical fact that the books of the New Testament were written in koine Greek, I should think that Truthfinder's Hebrew manuscript is among the rarest of documents on earth. --Hank
3 | Exodus 3:14 connected to John 8:58? | Ex 3:14 | Morant61 | 76131
Greetings Hank! I remember asking Truthfinder about that comment. I know that there aren't any extant New Testament documents written in Hebrew. There has been some speculation that some of them may have been written in Hebrew originally, and there is some historical evidence that the Gospel of Matthew may have been written in Hebrew originally. However, there aren't any originals in existence. Therefore, he must be translating a Hebrew translation of the Greek back into English. Of course, this is not a very accurate practice, though it may be fun. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, I agree with you here as there are no "originals" of any scripture, OT, nor NT, Greek nor Hebrew. There are only hand copies of copies of copies, etc. Even though you didn't address this note to me, thought I would say hi,:). Have a nice day. Truthfinder |

Hi! :-) Was I correct in my assumption? Which Hebrew New Testament text are you translating from? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
