1 | Why does God deliver SOME from sin? | Ex 34:7 | gloryrain | 66064
I believe that addictions are caused by demonic forces. The fact that the person often feels compelled to use drugs or alcohol shows that they cannot stop this behavior by their sheer willpower. I believe that these demonic forces can be generational inquities passed down in families or people can open themselves to these types of spirits. I believe that this is why you see these problems passed from generation to generation. I believe that deliverance ministry and counseling is essential and that once delivered the person must be taught how to guard against these spirits coming back. Whether these demons are in or on the person does not matter it is a problem either way. Jesus was always doing deliverance ministry and casting out demons where ever He went. We do not want to believe that demons exist today and most churches to not offer deliverance ministry. Doris Wagner has a great book called How to Cast Out Demons" that explains how these forces work in individuals and families. Some people have demonic "strongholds" wich can only be broken through prayer and fasting as Jesus said.
2 | Why does God deliver SOME from sin? | Ex 34:7 | John Reformed | 66091
Dear Gloryrain, The Bible says that drunkeness is a sin. Do a word search on "drunk" and you will find that is a carnal behaviour in which we are not to indulge. It is nowhere (in the Bible) presented as a form of demonic possesion. "The devil made me do it" is a cop out that portrays sinners as victims. John |
