1 | God never sends disease? | Ex 32:35 | Morant61 | 167411
Greetings All! Someone directed me to Kenneth Copeland's website, so I have been reading some of the articles available there. It is amazing how unbiblical some of the statements are on this site. Here is one example: "God never inflicted anyone with disease or anything listed under the curse." Source: http://www.kcm.org/studycenter/articles/protection/whatamIdoing.php Yet, look at Ex. 32:35: "And the LORD struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made." Now, who is correct - Copeland or Scripture? :-) If someone can't even get this basic of an issue correct, I would not advise listening to anything that person has to say. :-( Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | God never sends disease? | Ex 32:35 | BradK | 167485
Hi Brother, Good point! I believe this question was posed a few weeks back on the Forum and I answered in part. I've since found a couple of other references: Deut. 28: 21-22, 35. I recently heard Rod Parsley make a reference to the Hebrew meaning of a word he referred to. When I checked it out, I could not find the remotest lexical support. I had to wonder how many in his audience even thought about it, let alone even bothered to check it out. Unfortunately, there is a general lack of discernment and many are blindly following this type of teaching, taking every word said as true! They will undoubtedly explain away the error:-( We are to be Bereans and search the scriptures to see if these things be true (Acts 17:13) A wrong thing said, whether it be believed by 500 or 5000 people, is still a wrong thing! In Christ, BradK |

3 | God never sends disease? | Ex 32:35 | Morant61 | 167487
Greetings Brad! I had the same kind of experience with a local pastor once while I was in college. I was taking Greek at the time, so I used to bring my Greek NT with me to follow along during the sermon. The pastor was into Hagin's teachings and made a claim about a certain Greek word during the sermon. There were two problems with the claim he made. First of all, the word wasn't even in the passage. Secondly, the distinction he was making was not correct either. I went to him privately about the matter and he became very angry with me. That also happened to be the church we were attending when we lost our son to congential heart defects. Many in that church tried to tell us that we didn't have enough faith or God would have healed our son. Needless to say, we found someplace else to worship. :-) Keep up the high quality posts my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
