Scripture ... Gen 14:7, 36:12; Deu 25:17-19; 1 Sam 15:3, 7, 18, 20; 1 Chr 4:43; Est 9:5-10 ... Greetings helmet 100us, You misquoted Scripture, read what Exo 17:14 says and restated in Deu 25:19. God wanted the memory of the Amalekites wiped out. According to Nave's Topical Bible, the Amalekites were people inhabiting the country south of Idumea and east of the Red Sea. Their area went from Havilah to Shur (1 Sam 15:7). I think there are two groups. One was a group Abram fought against (Gen 14:7). The other was from Easu's grandson (Gen 36:12). God commanded to wipe them out (Deu 25:17-19), even specifically to Saul (1 Sam 15:3, 18), who did not obey (vs 20). They were completely destroyed during the reign of Hezekiah (1 Chr 4:43). Tho some say it was by the Jews in Esther 9:5-10. Hope I answered your question, Searcher |
