2 | The kingdom in Nebuchadnezzars dream? | Dan 2:36 | prayon | 18654 | ||
Greetings Alex, His dream symbolized different periods in history. The gold head symbolized the Empire of Babylonian of which Nebuchadnezzar was ruler from 606 BC until 539 BC. The chest and arms which were made of silver represented the Medo-Persian empire which ruled from 539 BC until 331 BC. This kingdom belonged to Nebuchadnezzar's grandson. The Bronze body and thighs represented Alexander the Great who ruled the Grecian Empire from 331 BC to 146 BC. The fourth kingdom represented by the legs of iron was the Roman Empire. Being strong as iron was referring to the great military of the Romans. The times of this Empire are 146 BC until AD 476. As the feet and toes are made of both iron and clay it was to be a divided kingdom. The kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. The stone that was carved out that smashed the clay and iron symbolizes the rock of Jesus Christ. Hope this helps. prayon |
