1 | Who are"violent men of your own people? | Dan 11:14 | Chusarcik | 84070
Emmaus, Thanks for your answer. If this group of people was the Ptolemies and Seleucids why are they referred to as "violent men among YOUR OWN people. Daniel is being addressed here and it sounds as though it's talking about a sub group of Daniel's people from Jerusalem? And I still don't understand what vision this group of viloent people is trying to fulfill? My study Bible doesn't have any information on the topic Can you clarify? Chusarcik |

2 | Who are"violent men of your own people? | Dan 11:14 | Emmaus | 84111
Chusarcik, The violent men are Daniel's people because they are Jews after the restoration of Cyrus. At that time Egypt (Ptolomies) and Syria (Selucids) from the broken empire of Alexander were fightijg over control of Israel (Palestine). The Selucids had the upper hand and some "violent men" ,Jews, fought the Selucids by allignining themselves with Egypt(Ptolomies) in hopes Egypt would help them against the Selucids, but it was not successful.
