1 | Old Testament vs New | Ezek 36:27 | Searcher56 | 67741
Scripture ... Eze 36:25-27; Jhn 14:16-26, 16:7-15 ... tmssr, greetings and welcome to the forum. The passage in Ezekiel has some New Covenant terms. It is very close to what Jesus said in the passages in John that I cited. One difference is that God was speaking to one in the OT and 11 in the NT. Judas was there but it didn't apply to him. I hope this helps, Searcher |

2 | Old Testament vs New | Ezek 36:27 | tmssr | 67825
Searcher, greetings and thanks for the response. After deeper thought and research, it appears that, from the beginning, God's Holy Spirit has always been active. I believe that what God told Ezekiel He was going to do was not a choice of theirs. Because of their disobedience, he was going to place in them, a new heart and new spirit. Of course this foreshadows Christ's birth, death, ressurection, ascension, and sending the Comforter. And, perhaps the reference in Ezekiel wont't be realized until after the Second Coming and at the end of the Millenium. Perhaps this is a very deep scripture with many conotations and interpretations. Be Blessed. tmssr |
