1 | Old Testament Law | Jer 7:23 | Emmalinabear | 41111
I have a question about the Old Testament Law. Are we still under it? I have always believed that we are under the grace of Jesus Christ and no longer have to follow old test. laws. People have been telling me lately that we are to keep the old laws, feasts, and Saturday Sabbath, etc. I am really confused. I keep finding scripture that Paul writes we are no longer bound to that law. If anyone could shed some light on this area for me I would very much appreciate it. Love In Christ, Emmalinabear |

2 | Old Testament Law | Jer 7:23 | New Creature | 41165
Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. The OT law states "thou shalt not lie, steal, etc. Is it ok to lie and steal? Paul says, now that were no longer under the law, but under grace, that doesn't give us a green light to do those things the law prohibited. Even under civil law, try shop-lifting from your local Wal-Mart. If you get caught you will get arrested. The law however is etched on the believers heart, not on tablets of stone. An unbeliever will not submit to God's law, that is why we need cicil law to restrain them. The believer submits to God's law by grace motivated obedience, and at the same time fulfills civil law also. |
