1 | God's decree on His elects - oppression | Jer 50:33 | azurelaw | 199446
"...all who took them captive have held them fast..." Shall I understand it as on one hand, the Israelites and the Jews encountered oppression from ALL (first the Egyptians, then the Babylonians....the Nazis) for the reason that they are God's people; while on the other hand, all believers (in a broader sense of God's elect) shall also encounter persecution from many as what Jesus has taught beforehand. Therefore, the key is not the oppressors but the Elects (all believers) are not of the world? Hope I have explained myself clear. Shalom Azure |

3 | God's decree on His elects - oppression | Jer 50:33 | azurelaw | 199456
Dear Brother John, Thanks. For sure I am glad to be God's elect. I should have put one more '?' on my first paragraph. I want to know if my such understanding as to Jer 50:33 biblical. The word "all" is pretty weighty to me as I think it would not be possible that "all" nations hold the same attitude toward the Jews or a specific group of people (or the elect...or all beleivers) unless some of their God granted attributes, nature or characteristics cause it. Am I clear or just muddying the water further? Thanks for your patience with me. Shalom Azure |

Well, it is late for me and I may be to tired to understand you very well, but do these verses help? 1 Pet 4:12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 1 John 3:13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. God's people, are God's people, and the world hates God's people. I couldn't be anything but patent with you my dear Sister. does that help? |
