1 | once saved always saved? | Jer 32:40 | armond888 | 128575 | ||
Please know that I do not wish to cause a debate just think you should consider the following scriptures I have referenced.. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. If you can not lose your salvation there would be no need to say "I will not erase" Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Saved eternally??? yes you will receive eternal life.. but you can be cut-off... Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. There are many more references but I pray you get the point and use reason.. The doctrine of eternal savation is a dangerous one indeed.. |

Thank you, armond, for the eisegesis that accompanied your desire not to debate. It is a common error to take descriptions and render them as prescriptions. Scripture always balances scripture, and must be taken into account with the entire counsel of the Word. Furthermore, the abuse of truth by any or all people does not invalidate that truth. A non-orthodox rendering of the gospel, however, is beyond dangerous, it is anathema (Gal 1:8-9). Like you, I do not wish to debate. :-) |
