Welcom to the forum, Mess46! :-) Psa 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. Psa 94:14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. Psa 145:20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 1 Pet 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. |

Please know that I do not wish to cause a debate just think you should consider the following scriptures I have referenced.. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. If you can not lose your salvation there would be no need to say "I will not erase" Rom 11:22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. Saved eternally??? yes you will receive eternal life.. but you can be cut-off... Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. There are many more references but I pray you get the point and use reason.. The doctrine of eternal savation is a dangerous one indeed.. |

armond, I understand the scripture references you gave, but can you explain WHY it is that you feel "The doctrine of eternal savation is a dangerous one indeed.." I don't expect that we'll agree, but I would be interested to know your thoughts :-) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

well again with my intention to strongly avoid debate ..or cause contention of any sort I respectfully say that this doctrine implies we can live anyway we choose and that is not the case at all. I leave you with this scripture reference and hopefully we can close the matter honorably , although we disagree.. to God be the Glory.. Col 1:22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister. James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). |

The 11th chapter of Romans gives us something to think about in relation to the eternal security doctrine. We serve a holy God who demands holiness 1 Pe 1:15 - But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Holiness is God's standard for the believer. If we focus on relationship with our Lord and allow Him to perfect holiness in us, we will not have time to focus on legalism or the letter of the law. The children of Israel refused a relationship with God and substituted that relationship for a physical king like "the other nations". 1 Sam 8:4-7 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, 5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. 6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. 7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. We are not like the other nations we are a nation of kings and priets. Too many times believers behave and live so far beneath our calling. God has called us as kings and priests, a royal priestood. In Romans chapter 11, the gentiles were criticizing the Jews who were cut off. Here Paul clarified that this casting away had a direct correlation with unbelief. It is the same with us, when we fail to believe we are a priesthood we will behave like heathens. When we fail to believe we are rich according our father wealth in glory, we will operate with a poverty mantality. When we fail to believe we are light, we ultimately fellowship with darkness. However if we consider the natural branches and their fate as Paul adminishes us to, we will see the light of God's Word in relation to our salvation. Romans 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. v23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. If that is not enough, what about Pauls letter to the Hebrews: Heb 2:1-3 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. v2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; v3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him. I pray that the God of wisdom, and the spirit of revelation would open the eyes of all who reads this note. Take heed and be blessed. |
