Hello! I’m a Franciscan student from Poland. I’m writing my master’s work about: Ezekiel 47, 1-12 and Revelation 22, 1-2. Could you share your reflections about these extracts? Thank you! |

The water reference in Ezekiel 47 and Revelation 22:1-2 do sound connected. From what I can find in my own tradition there seems to be some debate about how they ought to be connected in a prophetic way. Perhaps this is less of an issue in Roman Catholic tradition. Nevertheless, if I were to write on this, I would probably focus on the redemptive power of Christ. I think it can be clearly demonstrated that He is the living water (John 4:10 and Rev 7:17) that flows from the throne. The woman at the well was trying to drink from a broken cistern (trying to find fulfillment to her thirst through relationships with men). God offers this this water freely (Is 55:1) and in abundance... but oh how often we turn instead to broken cisterns! I'd also compare and contrast such passages as Isaiah 41:17-19, John 7:37-39, Psalm 102:16-17, etc. I look forward to seeing future posts from you, Brother Arek. God bless you, sir, as you search God's Word. |
