Hello again, God did this to these people just like He caused those He delivered out Egypt to wonder in the wilderness and die. He did it because they rejected Him and did evil in His sight. He had prepared great things for them, but their rebellion caused them to miss out on the blessings of God. God had already warned them that if they rebelled, that they would not receive the things He had promised them, but would receive judgment. See Deut. 28:2 and 15. (Deu 28:2) And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. (Deu 28:15) But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: later...wdc |

I agree, wdc, I agree. It's either truth or consequences, there is no other way. The Lord saw the truth of their sins and rebukes them through the prophets. However, they continued to disregard His rebuke and warning, bringing judgment and punishment upon themselves from Him. His promise of deliverance came with repentance, His promise of judgment came with sin. - Nolan |
