1 | Why would God fight against His people? | Jer 21:5 | Makarios | 28169 | ||
Greetings Searcher56! Yes, the Lord Himself would not have compassion (v. 7) on His own people, and He set His face against them (v. 10) because of the evil of their deeds (v.12). "Many nations will pass by this city; and they will say to one another, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this great city?' Then they will answer, 'Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD their God and bowed down to other gods and served them.'" Jeremiah 22:8-9 - Nolan |

(Deu 28:2) And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. (Deu 28:15) But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: later...wdc |

I agree, wdc, I agree. It's either truth or consequences, there is no other way. The Lord saw the truth of their sins and rebukes them through the prophets. However, they continued to disregard His rebuke and warning, bringing judgment and punishment upon themselves from Him. His promise of deliverance came with repentance, His promise of judgment came with sin. - Nolan |
