Jeremiah 15:10 Why did Jeremiah ask God that even though he did not lend to people, nor did people borrow from him, but people are still cursing him? It seems that from Jeremiah's view, lending and borrowing money is not a good thing, otherwise people will have troubles (though he did not do the lending and borrowing thing, people still curse him)? Jesus said that we should lend to people money if they ask and borrow money from us. However, in our real life, what should we do? | ||||||

Greetings! Jeremiah isn't discussing the relative merits or disadvantages of loaning or borrowing money. He is simply alluding to the fact that when money is loaned or borrowed, relationships tend to sour. Since he had done neither, he is asking why the people were upset with him. Of course, the answer is that as a prophet, he was calling the people to repentance, and they didn't like it. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
