Isaiah 7:14 says: "Therefore the Lord will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." from NIV ... notice ... he will be called (not named) Immanuel. No doubt that it is Jesus who is called Immanuel ( which means 'the Christ' ). Also Isaiah 9:6 " For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." from NIV the key words here are "For to us" ... Isaiah was a prophet to four kings of Israel, so he was most likely referring to the hebrew when he said "for to us"... Jesus was born a Jew. | ||||||
