Hi shuru, Welcome to the forum. I am a person that is interested in capitalization and would be one of the first to jump in to answer your question. The NKJ capitalizes (Servant) in this verse thus making it signifing Deity and most probably Jesus. I would agree with this as also does the Amplified version above. I think that a good verse to compare it to would be John 8:12, "Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the (Light) of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the Light of life." Parentheses are mine for comparison. Or Daniel 2:22, "It is (He) who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness And the light [Light] dwells with Him." So the answer to the question in the verse of your inquiry is "No one". There should be no Christian who would walk in darkness and have no light or knowledge. Jesus is the Light of the world and the Servant who gave His life for us. From the heart, Ray |
