1 | Elohim or Jehovah | Is 42:8 | beno | 206606
Hi; A while back I asked how to find which verses originally had Elohim or Jehovah, both of which are translated as LORD in all versions of the Bible I can find. I was told how to answer that for specific verses, but I would like to do an overview of all verses. That is, I´d like to do a search of, for example, Elohim, and find out which verses use Elohim, then do the same for Jehovah. How can I do that? Thanks, beno |

Well, to start off a strongs concordance would be most helpful. It will list in english alphabetically LORD and God. LORD or more appropriate YHWH is listed 6823 times and is not hard to find. And this is a slight pet peeve of mine but Jehovah is not our creators name. The YHWH is typically pronounced Yahweh. Jehovah was created to keep people from saying His real name. The story has it that the Masorites vowel pointed the YHWH in the Hebrew with another title of Adonia. Most if not all grammtical scholars will tell you that Jehovah is grammitcally impossible to come up with. Anyways, YHWH is strongs number 3068 and Elohim is #430. Hope you enjoy your study!!
