1 | turtle / turtle-dove | Song 2:12 | Makarios | 28447 | ||
Greetings Dave, The 1899 Douay-Rheims, the 1833 Webster Bible and the 1898 Young's Literal Translation also use only the word "turtle" in this verse, but this was corrected as 'turtledove' in the 1901 American Standard Version. One can gain a good study in English etymology just by studying the changes over the course of time in English translations of the Bible. Blessings to you, Nolan |
