In the Left Behind books there are a lot of references to the number 216. Are there any biblical references or meanings behind this?

They probably got 216 by multiplying 6x6x6. Doubt they borrowed the idea from the movie Pi. Only know one possible use of 216 in the Bible and that is for counting the number of verses in Ecclesiastes without the 6 verse epilogue. The first word DBRY (the words of) in Ecclesiastes has a value of 216. The phrase translated Vanity of Vanities all is Vanity also has a value of 216 if the spelling of "all" in the Masoretic Text is correct otherwise the phrase has a value of 222 which is the total number of verses in Ecclesiastes. Counting verses, words and letters may have been a wise practice for accuracy but trying to find meaning in every number is like chasing the wind. Meaningless of meaninglessness its all meaningless.
