1 | Proverbs 8 Wisdom Equals Jesus | Prov 8:22 | suzybeezy | 125308
Points of view on Prov. 8;23 being Jesus. I've read and re-read this and cross-referenced several different ways and I believe this is definately a reference that Wisdom is Jesus. Or I was thinking maybe it means its the wisom of the understanding of the great mystery (Col. 1;27)of Christ living in us. Also why does this whole chapter refer to Wisdom in the feminine form?
2 | Proverbs 8 Wisdom Equals Jesus | Prov 8:22 | Ray | 125313
Hi suzybeezy, If Jesus is Wisdom, then who is Prudence in verse 12? :) Wisdom is in the lower case. We often think of the spirit of wisdom and that would bring in the feminine form. I believe that Proverbs 8:22 does speak of Jesus and it speaks of the spirit of wisdom that He possessed from everlasting, from the beginning. Even from the beginning of His works. P.S. Other Scriptures to compare and consider: Proverbs 6:16, "There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to *Him:...8:12, "I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And I find knowledge and discretion. 13 The fear of the Lord/ is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way, And the perverted mouth, I hate." Proverbs 3:32, "For the crooked man is an abomination to the *Lord; But He/ is intimate with the upright." Proverbs 9:10, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One/ is understanding." John 8:26, "...these [things] I speak to the world." 27 They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father./" John 5:43, "I have come in My Father's/ name, and you do not receive Me; if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" The * and the slash are mine for comparison/contrasts. From the heart, Ray |
