Proverbs 8:13 "And the perverse mouth I hate" I don't understand what the word perverse means in the bible. I have always assumed that perversity was related to a disgusting sexual thought, or act. When I look in the dictionary is states below: What does it mean in the bible. I don't want to be either but I do want to understand what I amtalking about (wisdom)!!! 1.willfully determined or disposed to go counter to what is expected or desired; contrary. 2. characterized by or proceeding from such a determination or disposition: a perverse mood. 3. wayward or cantankerous. 4. persistent or obstinate in what is wrong. 5. turned away from or rejecting what is right, good, or proper; wicked or corrupt. |

Hello haalo, The King James has it froward, rather than perverse. The AKJV uses the word 'fraudulent, and Darby uses froward. Anyway, the Hebrew word in the Bible is Strong's H2015 "tahpukah" which is a feminine noun that is said to mean, perverseness, or foolishness. Strong's Hebrew Dictionary defines it: a perversity or fraud:--(very) froward(-ness, thing), perverse thing. Blessings to you, keliy |
