1 | Why the spotlight on gays? | Prov 6:16 | nelson9770 | 141993
Why is there such hatred for homosexuals? I see in references in the Bible that it is a sin. There are other sins that are the same in punishment that are not even looked at in today's society. Adultry, sex before marriage and so on. Why is our society today so focused on homosexuality.

nelson9770: You make a good point. Homosexual sin is an abomination. But it is not the only sin that the Bible calls an abomination. I guess maybe liars, for example, are more comfortable condeming homosexuals than they are condemning themselves along with other liars. Le 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination Proverbs 6 16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. As we all know, homosexual sin is an abomination. And so is lying! I don't know how I could answer your specific question with a passage of Scripture. Your question would be better addressed by a sociologist or psychologist than by a student of the Bible. It's a good question, relevant to our times. But all one could do at this forum would be to speculate upon the answer. Grace to you, Kalos |
