Hi Makarios, Thank you for quoting another version, Holman Christian Standard Bible, that capitalizes pronouns. I am not familiar with it and should consider it, I suppose. I noticed that the version also does not capitalize "Son", however. From the heart, Ray From the heart, Ray |

Hello Ray! Yes! I believe that we have found yet another of these "newer" versions that adheres to capitalization, much to your liking, no doubt! It seems that the Holman Christian Standard Bible, although presented in paragraph form and being just a shade more literal then the NIV, seeks to keep some of the formatting characteristics of the NASB- such as capitalizing pronouns that refer to Deity and putting verses with questionable authenticity (such as Matthew 18:11) in brackets [ ] like the NASB. Therefore, I believe that it, along with the ESV, is seeking to claim that 'middle ground' between the very literal NASB and dynamically equivalent NIV, by attempting provide a little of 'the best of both worlds'.. I, however, continue to favor the NASB and its close cousin, the ESV, even though the HCSB is an excellent new translation that will garner quite a following. Blessings to you, Makarios |
