Ray John 6:63 must be taken in context with John 6:52-62. But first let us look at the the other verses on your post. Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [KJV] I used to think that this verse meant that anything that I did I was supposed to say, “it wasn’t me it was God. He did it not me.” Then God revealed that it was my life that was to acknowledge Him. “All my ways” was my life. When all I do reveals God by my life that all my goings and doings would be directed by Him. When that is the case willo any of my goings and doings fail? Proverbs 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings. [KJV] Proverbs 15:3-9 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. [4] A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. [5] A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. [6] In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble. [7] The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. [8] The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. [9] The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. [KJV] I think these two go together. God and His word are one. Therfore what is said about one is also talking about the other. Heb. 4:12 through Heb. 4:13 (NASB) 12For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. GOD KNOWS ALL. We can hide nothing from Him. In fact it is a little absurd that we would think that we can keep God from knowing something we think or have done. We cannot keep the condition of our heart from God. He knows our spirit (character). Out of the abundance of our heart the mouth speaks. That is how we know anothers heart. Eccles. 9:1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. [KJV] God is in everything. There is nothing that is done that He is not in. I didn’t say causes, I said in. Until man knows God he really doesn’t know anything. All that comes from man is temporal. That which is temporal with fade away and is hence not real. What we know from God and of God is eternal and will never fade away. That is what is real. If we don’t know this we know nothing. The real is the spiritual. Jesus says that until we are able to unite with him (eat his flesh and drink his blood; a hebrew figure of speech) we will not understand. The Spirit of God gives life. What I say cannot be understood by the mental, by the worldly. Your character will not profit you until you are united with me and your spirit is given life. Then you will understand spiritual things. God makes the wise things of the world foolishness. His stuff is much better than our stuff. Get out of God’s way your mind and will is keeping Him from completing, perfecting His work in you. I hope this finds you well Asis |

3 | Spirit or spirit? John 6:63 | Prov 5:21 | Mommapbs | 100994 | ||
Hi! I'd like to respond to this question you asked of Ray: "When all I do reveals God by my life that all my goings and doings would be directed by Him. When that is the case will any of my goings and doings fail?" In "The Purpose Driven Life," Rick Warren observes that God is more interested in our character development than in our comfort. He uses circumstances, yes even those in which we "seem" to fail, to conform us to the image of Jesus (Romans 8:29) - yet without a spiritual understanding of what God has purposed for us, we may have a difficult time accepting or even agreeing with Romans 8:28. So, in our humanness, we struggle to see the "good" in tragedy, trials, and sorrows . . . BUT GOD - yes, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus enables us to see what He sees and gives us an eternal perspective rather than a temporal one! Blessings my brother! t |

mommapbs We indeed need a spiritual understanding to realize that everything that comes our way is used to bring us to believe God. If I "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. [8] It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. [9] Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: [10] So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."Proverbs 3:5-10 [KJV] then I don't think it is failure God has in mind for us/me. We should not be trying to figure out what God is doing in our lives, but rather letting God do what He wants. I don't want to know God in my humanness rather I want to know him in my spirit man, my inner man, be a spiritual man. As I know Him this way then I can let go and let God. When I let God He gives us the eternal perspective. Your brother Jeff |
